"ontogenesis" by Margaret Haden, represents an aerial view of the almond blossoms grown here in Merced. each clay piece represents the germination of a growing almond tree. the individual clay forms are laid out in a similar grid to the way the tree orchards are laid out.
wine program
Our wine program–which received Wine Spectator’s Award of Excellence in 2024–features both domestic and international purveyors with inspiration from the region’s vibrant wine history. our curated selection includes nearly 75 varietals from the surrounding Central Valley, Central Coast, and Sonoma/Napa regions. as part of the exploration of these regions, special attention has been given to the Rhone Varietal producers who have pioneered quality and artisan winemaking in the area.
